Zaira Wasim shot in popularity after she debuted in the biggest Bollywood movie, Dangal. She starred as the younger version of the main character Geeta Phogat. She played superstar Aamir Khan’s daughter in the movie and her acting was praised universally.
Zaira Wasim has become extremely famous from the very first movie of hers
She was not only lauded for her stellar acting but also given so many awards, including the prestigious National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She then went on to star in ‘Secret Superstar’ which was an equally successful movie, making her one of India’s most bankable actors ever
The movie not only broke records in India, it became a huge hit also in China, further cementing Zaira as a young actress to look out for.
She is all set to appear in a new movie, ‘The Sky Is Pink’, where she stars as Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar’s daughter and plays a real-life child Aisha Chaudhary who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.
However Zaira just shocked everyone earlier today by announcing her retirement from Bollywood, the reason she gave was that her career was taking her away from her Imaan
At just 18 years of age, she was said to be the next big acting sensation in India but her sudden announcement has shocked many fans

Zaira Wasim is a mature lady and knows what she is doing. She is free to decide the path she wants to take. Her decision must be respected. However, this shouldn’t become another pretext to troll & harass women who wish to pursue their career in acting or modelling.

Of course there is controversy around her decision as well where some Hindu fans are angry and calling her a religious fanatic and mocking her

#ZairaWasim ‘s decision to dissociate with film industry (‘because it interferes with her faith’) should be understood and respected as much as Nusrat Jahan’s Sindoor-Bindi.
That did not make Nusrat immoral as this does not make Zaira more moral.
