Desis Can't Stop Comparing Harry And Meghan To “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham” And It's Hilarious

By Arslan Athar | 11 Jan, 2020

Harry and Meghan have said bye-bye to the Royal Family and desis cannot handle it!

In the midst of rising tensions around the world, the British Royal Family has seemed to distract the world with some desi level of family drama.

A few days ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they’re essentially leaving the Royal Family and going on to do their own thing.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.” – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex For more information, please visit sussexroyal.com (link in bio) Image © PA

This statement came as a shock to everyone, including their own family, especially the Queen.

As time went on, details of this split from the family came forward and they were messy.

Apparently, no one knew in the family knew this was going to happen. Yup, Harry and Meghan literally just got up and L E F T. This got mixed reactions; some were over the moon while others were extremely offended.

While the Western world was shocked, we desis all over the world couldn’t help but the parallels between this and so many Pakistani dramas and movies. Even more specifically, this entire drama seemed a bit too much like a Karan Johar production.

‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ vibes were felt

This is essentially how ‘The Crown’ Season 8 will open.

The parallels only got worse when wax statues of the couples were removed from a display for the Royal Family.

The memes are all GOLD.

Who knew we would be comparing the Royal Family to K3G this year. 2020 has been wild, and it hasn’t even been 10 days.

The Royal Family colonized us and took back with them the Kohinoor Diamond, a lot of other wealth and apparently also our inclination towards family politics.

This scene, in particular, is really speaking to a lot of desi souls.

You might think K3G is extra, but hey, it seems to have resonated with Harry and Meghan. Time to rewatch the film, I guess.

Alongside this, some people were impressed by Harry’s bold stance and were wondering if Pakistani men might take note.

A lot more information is coming out about this split. However, all new information points to the fact that Harry and Meghan LEGIT got up and left. Meghan is currently in Canada, while Harry is dealing with the downfall after their announcement. It will interesting to see how this couple navigates the world, but till then, enjoy the memes!
