You can compare the general policies of both schools, but you can’t generalise by saying that one is better than the other. Beaconhouse and TCS have many branches; some are good, while others are bad. Some TCS branches are probably better than some BSS branches, and vice versa.
I graduated from Beaconhouse Garden Town, Lahore. I would rate my experience 9/10. The only reason I deducted a point is that the school lacked air conditioning. However, I cannot say the same for other BSS branches, and I’m pretty sure that LGS and City have their own branches that are just as good, if not better.
Also, I feel that schools should not be converted into status symbols. I don’t advertise the fact that I attended BSS, and I don’t need to. Send your kids to BSS or TCS or LGS, but teach them to be very humble.
It’s Beaconhouse for me all the way. It is one of those private schools where you learn how to blend West with East. The English taught there is great and many teachers I have learnt from were amazing people. City is fine but not like Beacohouse. On the other hand, I kinda wish that they maintain its quality and select teachers of kindergarten and primary srudents more carefully though.

I’ve had family and friends in both schools. Studied in Beaconhouse myself, so there may be an underlying bias to what I say but I promise I’ll try to be as objective as possible.
From what I’ve seen when I compare both schools, Beaconhouse comes out on top, however this was only due to recent changes in strategies and methodology. I remember both schools being equally good while I was in elementary and middle school, however Beaconhouse’s reformist and progressive policies during my high school years helped it outshine way past City. This is an absolute objective opinion, you can notice the difference yourself when you compare students from both schools. Beaconhouse adopted a more well-rounded approach while City focused on more exculsive and conservative approaches. The lack of co-ed schools established was alarming. Beaconhouse has no male/female only schools (to my knowledge); I remember it laying foundations for new clubs for debate, literature, arts and craft, etc. (something unprecedented in the study-only schooling environment of Pakistan); It has been a champion in foreign (and local)-exchange programs; and it has excellent teachers and coordinators (most trained abroad) to supplement a great educational experience. It also charged lesser fees for more services while I studied there (I compared with my cousins studying in City at the time). My cousins were pretty pissed when City introduced new uniforms (mandatory* uniforms) for various physical activities that could be done in casual trousers and t-shirts (just like in Beaconhouse). During my high school years at Beaconhouse, I noticed the simple yet effective policies that, when compared to City’s exclusive/exquisite but redundant policies, surpassed City by a huge margin. There was no rivalry in Beaconhouse when I was there, not to sound pretentious or anything but we had nothing really to compare anymore. City wasn’t just following up well and had diminished itself from being ranked as a worthy competitor. My older cousins that studied in Beaconhouse back in the day had a rivalry with City, not us, Beaconhouse was already ahead of City while I studied there.
Oh and not saying that City can’t make a comeback, it can (with the ridiculous money they charge), but for now; Beaconhouse wins.
Both are good..but my son is in tcs shalimar campus and i must say the facilty is very cooperative and friendly, comparativly fee is much reasonable and i must say the education quality is very remarkable..what else do u nee need, when your child is getting pamperd and well educate at the same time 😊
As a person who has studied from beacon and taught at TCS for a while I’ve found that putting young children in City School is basically educational suicide. TCS has good campuses and bad campuses I’m sure, but their policies regarding how a child should be taught are atrocious. You can’t tell a child that 1+1=3 is wrong, you have to quietly and without the child’s knowledge change the answer so that it’s correct. I’ve been made to erase and rewrite pages upon pages of Class 1 comprehensions because the students’ writing was too childish. I was absolutely horrified by the attitude there. It’ like they don’t teach these children to help them learn things, they just teach to score points with the parents.
Over all of this absurd talk,I don’t know if my opinion matches with you, but for me both are zero.I am myself a student of The City School and I am not concerned of the fees structure as this year children with good percentages are awarded 25% Scholarship
(8th Grade).I hate the lack of facilities. To Begin with,Why aren’t Class Rooms air-conditioned?
Moreover,The Canteens now charge more as per required.I understand the fact that the Canteens need to pay the rent,But the prices have increased more since the Canteen has gone through consolidation.Thirdly,Exams often have 2 or 3 questions that are out of the Syllabus, And due to them,we lose marks.
You may or not agree with my statements, But Hey,Its my opinion 😊😊,And if you agree,Like My Comment.
The City School is best bcoz it has branches in every small city of Pakistan. Second they believe on homeschool partnership which is the best agenda for better customer care and ongoing changes for student positive progress. TCS provide every single opportunity and platform to their students for mental and physical development and give international standard of education.
I am very much satisfied with Tcs as my daughter is in tcs prepgirls pechs karachi.here the headmistress ma’m fatima shakaiba is fully involved in all activties and supervising the branch brilliantly, though branch was not that good last year but after the appointment of new HM things are changed. She listens to parents concerns and solve them and the good thing is my daughter doesnt need tuition.
My vote is for Beaconhouse, The basic thing is that Beaconhouse provides students with different opportunities. They don’t make students learn the basic English, urdu, science and maths bit actually many different which creates a student’s interest in school. For example there is a new subject called robotics in which they make machines. Then we also have PSHE which stands for personal social health and emotions which helps students to express their own feelings and not lie so they just dp with the flow. Plus Beaconhouse makes students go to different sports competitions. Which help students to be in touch with the environment. Not to just study and blast their minds. There are many more reasons from which Beaconhouse is better than city school.
BSS is far better
I graduated from the TCS CCI (Capital Campus Islamabad) in the summer of ’14, having completed my Alevels.
My answer is based from the pre-olevels point of view since my sister is going there (same campus) atm. And I’m very disappointed.
Their teachers are continuously changing for almost every subject (biology teacher switched twice, same with chemistry, English teacher switched 3 times now and the latest teaches English in Urdu). And when your class has an average of 60% for their term finals you know something’s very wrong with their system.
It used to be great at my time. We had amazing teachers who took the time out FOR US. I don’t know if the administrations gone lazy of the overall quality has dropped but I’m pulling my sister out of this system next class.
A prime example of how not to run a school.
I know this doesn’t really answer the question but I just wanted to share this.
