PEMRA Is Posting ‘Besharam' Content On Social Media And People Don't Know Where To Complain

By Ather Ahmed | 19 Aug, 2017

Just a few days ago, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued warning notices to three major Television Networks. These included Geo Entertainment, ARY Communications, and Hum TV. PEMRA had alleged that these channels had aired objectionable and indecent programs.

In the notice, PEMRA had requested ARY to send an explanation of sorts for viewing ‘indecent content’

Naturally, people had a lot to say on the matter.

Some supported their decision:

While others called them out for only issuing warnings and doing nothing substantial

There were those that were curious to know what the objectionable material was

Well, PEMRA being really active on social media these days had an answer for that:

For those of you who are not aware of this, ARY is the official distributor of HBO content in Pakistan. As far as the scene is concerned I can safely say that all Pakistanis closed their eyes in sync. I mean, we are trained for this since are childhood.

Asif Raza Mir is such a baller on a side note

Haww Haye, Sharab? Woh Bhi Imported? Tch tch, very bad GEO

PEMRA’s strategy sort of back-fired with people accusing it of posting ‘indecent content’.

Ufffff, the irony

Who watches the Watchmen?

Yeh tou sub ghalat hogaya:

Y u do dis PEMRA?

Obviously, one of them was bound to be tharki:
