Earlier today Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, passed. He was 99. The Duke of Edinburgh, as Prince Philip was officially called, was married to the Queen for more than 73 years. He was the “strength and stay” of the Queen, as she said in her own words during a speech on their 50th wedding anniversary, for more than 65 years. He retired from his official duties in 2017 to spend time in private.

Diana, the famous British royal who captured the hearts of millions of people across the world when she married Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth’s eldest son Prince Charles in 1981 passed away in 1997. Despite having passed away 13 years ago Princess Diana has still captured hearts around the world and as beloved everywhere.

The British Royal Family has had a tumultuous relationship with Diana and the passing of Prince Philip, her father-in-law, is reminding people of her
Because of her contentious divorce with Prince Charles, her public interviews about her rough life as a British royal and the Royal Family’s lack of quick and appropriate reaction at the time of her sudden death in 1997 has made people angry toward the Royals.
It doesn’t help that only recently Diana’s younger son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle left the royal family accusing the family of bullying Meghan, an accusation similar to Diana’s. Meghan and Harry also alleged that the Royals were racist toward Meghan and their then unborn son – Archie.
