This Indian Politician Just Accused These Bollywood Stars Of Allegedly Using Drugs And WTF

By Iman Zia | 1 Aug, 2019

Disclaimer: no drugs are visible in what appears to be a harmless video Bollywood director Karan Johar took during an intimate gathering at his home. It’s very problematic to see Indian personalities in political power slap out false accusations with no evidence.

Karan Johar is a hosting EXTRAORDINAIRE. The queen of parties always comes through with FOMO-inducing gatherings at his home where you’ll find Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone diddle dallying the night away.

Over the weekend, Karan had Bollywood stars like Deepika, Ranbir, and Shahid Kapoor over at his house.

The director recorded a quick video scanning every guest in the room and uploaded it onto his Instagram account, captioning it “Saturday night vibes.”

The seemingly harmless video caught the attention of right-wing politician Manjinder S Sirsa, who tweeted the video out and accused the stars of being in a “drugged state.”

He even added a hashtag #DrugAbuse and encouraged followers to retweet if they “fe[lt] disgusted.”

Twitteratis didn’t really buy it, and questioned where the drugs were (with many trolling Sirsa instead):

An individual in quite the authoritative position should tread more carefully when it comes to projecting baseless allegations on such a public platform. Opinions are always welcome in this day and age, however hurling around startling accusations against a group of powerful celebrities is heedless.
