This Stunningly Beautiful Dina Railway Station In Punjab Is Truly Something Out Of A Fairy Tale

By Mashal Abbasi | 27 Apr, 2019

Dina isn’t just a name, it’s also a city in the Jhelum district of the province of Punjab. Having provided a number of soldiers to both British and Pakistani armed forces, it’s also known as The City of Soldiers or The Land of Martyrs and Warriors.

There are many ways to reach this historical area of the country, one of the most picturesque – by rail.

Dina Railway Station is one of many operated by Pakistan Railways, and is arguably one of the most beautiful in the country, surrounded on both sides by lush greenery.

The path its trains run across has been dubbed as the tracks to Heaven, and this picture proves it!

Dina isn’t a large city in comparison to the many metropolitan areas of Pakistan, with a population of approximately 59,000. Here, the children see the station and its accompanying railway as nothing more than an obstacle course, a playground, and even a racing track.

On any given day, you’ll see young boys challenging the trains riding through the station, laughing as they run as fast as they can, only to slow down when they can no longer keep up.

Even though residents of the city sleep by night, the trains are always running, always rumbling down the tracks, wheels turning, steam blowing. Yet for the few who are up, once the sun sets, Dina Railway Station and its surrounding areas exhibit a different kind of beauty – one that is deeply captivating.
