Whether it’s been on social media or at the gym, at one point or another – you may have heard people around you talking about the ‘Keto’ diet or what most people just refer to as ‘Keto.’ Haina na?

The Keto diet is a popular form of low carb high-fat diets. Simple.

Keto, short for “Ketosis” stems from the process the human body undergoes when it is derived from Glucose, Sugars, and Carbohydrates. It causes the Liver to create “Ketones.” These molecules burn the body’s Fat Reserves for energy instead of external Glucose, which can be found in Wheat, Sugars, Fruits and other foods.

“You gotta eat fat to burn fat” – Is one of the motto’s of the Keto diet. Not bad, right?

Foods like butter, cheese, and olive-oil are highly recommended to speed up the Ketosis process as they supply FAT ENERGY rather than GLUCOSE ENERGY. (Big difference.)

You don’t have to be. There are practically no health risks to Ketosis! But as a diet, as with every diet, it is recommended to proceed with the programme until you hit your desired result. After that, you can kick back and get snacking on whatever you feel like. And then if you start feeling heavy again – hop back on Keto! That’s the beauty of it.

Keto friendly foods include meat, veggies, olive oil, butter and cheese and all the nuts you can get your hands on and NO SUGAR AND WHEAT FLOUR.

Of course, before you do start the programme, make sure you consult your doctor or nutritionist to make sure you’re all set to go through with it! ~
