International Music Icon Cher Just Thanked The Government Of Pakistan And Everyone's Confused

By Rameeza Ahmad | 22 May, 2020

International sensation Cher is on a twitter spree regarding Pakistan

Cher is an internationally acclaimed music sensation. She has won countless awards including awards at the Oscars and the Grammys. Even in her 70s she remains fairly active on social media and supporting social causes with her influence.

Cher just confused people in Pakistan, and around the world, last night

A lot of people thought that she had been hacked

Some were just confused.

Fans of Cher from Pakistan fully embraced her sudden outburst regardless of whatever the context was

Even Cher herself got in on the jokes about her sudden affection for Pakistan

But Cher’s sudden affection for Pakistan is not a result of her being hacked, this was her actually thanking the Government of Pakistan for a project she has cared deeply about for at least the past four years

Cher unofficially adopted the cause of a lonely elephant, Kaavan, that was kept in Islamabad zoo all alone after his partner died in 2012. She joined an appeal towards the Pakistan Government a few years back to make things better for Kaavan or free him and send him back to Sri Lanka, where he came from many years ago.

She has repeatedly made many appeals over the years, including seeking Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry’s attention

And finally today, the Islamabad High Court gave the verdict she had been hoping for, for the last few years

So of course she was very excited.

She thanked everyone who helped the cause and kept fighting for Kaavan

CHER IS ECSTATIC. IT’S ADORABLE.

She ended her sspree by thanking the Pakistani Government for freeing Kaavan and letting him go back home and spent the rest of his years free

Everyone’s super happy that Pakistan is getting attention for something positive, for a change
