TikTok is one of the most used apps by desi people. So, we all are pretty aware of how the app works and how the TikTok craze has made the desis go wild for all the showbiz fantasies, right? And since the craze is getting too much to handle, After Bangladesh and Indonesia, India has also decided to ban the application.
Indian Supreme court has just issued the order to ban the TikTok app in the country
The matter was initially raised in the Madras High Court which banned the app via an interim order without providing an opportunity to TikTok for defending itself. Later, the matter was brought to the Indian Supreme Court where the Tiktok owners argued for a stay on the ban and asserted that it cannot be held liable for actions of third parties on the platform. The app was like any other social media platform and added that singling out TikTok was discriminatory.

Authorities stated that the app had provided access to pornographic content which was detrimental to the youth of the country

Indian ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has asked Google and Apple to remove the app from the appstore and playstore
As per the officials,” “The High Court asked the government to prohibit download of TikTok application. It (MeitY) is ensuring that by asking Google and Apple to delete it from the app stores. Now it is up to the companies to do it or appeal the order.”

Well, looking at all the CRAZY Indian TikTok videos one can see why the Indian Supreme Court issued its order but honestly when will these courts learn that “banning is not a solution”
