Maasis, they clean our houses and turn off our fans when we’re asleep. It’s their job and they gotta do it (unless you’re the sort of maasi that has to attend her grandparents janazas 12 time a year). But, Captain Maasi is not your average Maasi, she has super powers and to quote Uncle Ben and Momina Mustehsan “with great power comes great responsibility”
Captain Maasi believes in not just keeping our houses clean but keeping our environment clean, as well. Here are all the reasons why Captain Maasi is the hero we all need:
1. Energy conservation
2. Taking out the trash
3. Preventing water wastage
4. Has an agenda against plastic pollution
5. Making our planet greener
6. And making our air cleaner
But as strong as Captain Maasi is she can’t tackle these problems on her own. We might not have a jadoo ka jharoo to bestow us powers but we do have the power to make small changes in our lifestyle:
1. No littering
2. Keeping a tote bag handy for groceries
3. Planting more trees
4. Carpooling and making sure our vehicles are tuned
5. Turning off electrical appliances when we aren’t using
If you can’t do it for Maasi, do it for the Earth!
It’s our only home, if we can’t keep it clean. Who will? Happy Earth Day everyone!
